One church; two cultures
(교회)

We attend a Korean Methodist church in Andover, Massachusetts. Ed was a member there before I knew him. The service is in Korean but Dr. Shin translates using a system that transmits to small receivers with an ear-bud available for non-Korean speaking congregants.

Both hymns and scriptures are displayed on a large screen in Korean and English. Ed can read Korean though he understands very little of what he reads. Because he can sound out the words, he can actually sing the hymns in Korean.

Ed looks forward to going to church every Sunday since he feels as if the church members are part of his family. He has known some of them for more than 20 years.

My English is not good enough to be able to really worship at an English-speaking church so the Andover Church works perfectly for both of us.
